As reported by Law Week Colorado, the Colorado District Attorneys’ Council has picked a new executive director to replace Ted Tow, who was recently appointed as a judge in Adams County and will take over a domestic relations docket there on November 29, 2010.
Tom Raynes was selected to take his place and will take over the position on November 22. Raynes is currently the head of the Criminal Justice section of the Colorado Attorney General’s office and was previously elected as DA in the Montrose-based 7th Judicial District. CDAC’s board of directors, which includes the elected DAs from 19 of the state’s 22 judicial districts as well as a half-dozen or so assistant DAs, selected Raynes for the position.
Raynes’ appointment will leave the Attorney General’s office with only four of six section heads; Monica Marquez, who leads the State Services section, is also leaving her position to replace Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey when she retires on November 30. The Attorney General’s office expects to fill both positions in the next two months.
