Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame to Host Women in the Law Event

cwhf_669logo_2012On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame will host a Law Day Event, “Celebrating Colorado Women: Women in the Law.” The event will take place at the Denver Public Library from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with an optional guided tour of the Ralph J. Carr Justice Center’s Learning Center and Library from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The agenda features a panel discussion on journeys to the bench with Chief Justice Nancy Rice of the Colorado Supreme Court, Chief Judge Marcia Krieger of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Judge Christine Arguello of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and retired Justice Jean Dubofsky of the Colorado Supreme Court, moderated by retired Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey. Following the panel discussion will be recognitions of Judge Marcia Krieger and Justice Nancy Rice.

Nominations Now Being Accepted for Denver Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business Award

The Denver Business Journal is seeking nominations for its 2015 Outstanding Women in Business special section. Nominations can be in multiple categories, such as law, government and nonprofits, small and large business owner, lifetime achievement award, and Mile High leaders. Nominees will be evaluated on innovation, entrepreneurship, professional accomplishment, and community leadership.

The special section will run August 21, 2015, and women selected as Outstanding Women in Business will also be honored at an awards event. Nominations must be submitted via the Denver Business Journal’s online form and must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015.

Don’t Miss Stir Cooking School on August 5 to Benefit CWBA

10563040_10152223678188803_7465217832007536902_nThe Colorado Women’s Bar Association is hosting Stir Cooking School on August 5, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Learn tricks of the trade while working side-by-side with professional chefs. This fun-filled event with cooking experience, gourmet food, and cocktails, benefits the CWBA’s lobbying and public policy efforts.

Registration is $100 per person, but CWBA members registering at full price can bring non-members at $60 per ticket. The event will take place at 3215 Zuni Street in Denver.
